Marlus Alves is a lawyer, enrolled in the Brazilian Bar Association.
He practices in the areas of civil and commercial law, both in advisory and litigation, with a focus on the prevention and resolution of strategic, complex, and multidisciplinary conflicts, in national and international matters. He also has extensive experience in arbitration, including international, as an arbitrator and lawyer, serving as Vice President of the Brazilian Chamber of Mediation and Arbitration for Business (CAMARB), in Portugal.
With nearly two decades of professional experience in major law firms and companies, he has served as legal head in the infrastructure sector in Europe and Africa, and is currently a partner at the Brazilian law firm Silva Matos Advogados.
Graduated in Law from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte – UFRN, Marlus Alves completed a master’s degree in international commercial law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (2022), currently in the thesis drafting phase. He is the co-coordinator of the arbitration team at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and is a Member of the Arbitration Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association – OAB/DF.
